Hi, you do not title if its diesel or not, when i bought mine (r reg) a couple months ago, it kept reving, look where the accelerator line goes into the pump, there is a damper, push the accelerator and release, the damper stops it returning quickly, if you splash wd40 on this it should help. It fixed mine anyway, the damper is black( like a small blow absorber on suspension). Hope this helps.

i at one period had a peugeot 206, i had the same problem... you woud usually asume it is the idling valve, but this isn't the case... it was actually the coolant flow sensor... which i relativly to a certain extent reasonably priced to be supplied and fitted
